From space to horizon, every work is a crossing.
No ouro, encontrei a palavra.
I am an architect by training. I learned to read the world through plane, line, and the play of light and shadow.
In painting, I take spaces apart to build others. My work is an invitation to walk a path, climb a staircase, look through a window, dive into a reflection.
In gold, I found the word. Today, between sea and land, the meeting of sky and water has become my new plane.
Drawing on her new life aboard the sailboat Papillon, Ana Mähler rethinks time, place and landscape. Each photograph is a slice of the horizon line, organised into four quadrants around the boat's real forestay, from the Brazilian coast to the arrival in Lisbon.
The images are framed in an acrylic box that carries the drawing of a golden ladder and a single word that sums up each crossing. The ladder is access to new perspectives: each rung, the courage to find new ways of seeing.
Imagine+
An occupation of the new home of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rio Grande do Sul. Material from the installation Siga a Regra de Ouro was reused in a gold mural of 300 modules and twenty-two words. Each module acquired was replaced on the wall by the name of its donor.
The proceeds supported the restoration of the museum's trams and the renovation of its new building. A collectively built work about the transforming power of words.
A 2.70 m³ cube is placed inside the gallery, and visitors can walk through the work. On the opposite walls the cube reappears as an anamorphosis: its lines spread across the walls and only come together as a cube from one precise point in the room, like a reflection of the real cube. Painting leaves the edges of the canvas and takes over the museum, painting in the expanded field.
The installation invites participation: small doors hold cards, and a QR code on the necklace displayed on the pedestal opens an app where each visitor writes their own golden rule. The sentence is then projected onto the museum wall with the writer's name.
Wish and do for others what you want for yourself.

Paisagens ParticularesPrivate Landscapes
Fragments of real landscapes around the world, built on the relationship between architecture and the place it stands in. Textures and marble-dust finishes answer back to digital technology, seeking an authentic, immersive encounter with large-scale works.
Alles Blau
A expressão vem do dialeto dos imigrantes alemães no Brasil e não existe no alemão original.“Alles Blau”, all blue, was what the artist's grandmother, Hilga Alma Bock Altermann, always answered when asked how she was. The phrase comes from the dialect of German immigrants in Brazil and does not exist in standard German.
Nesta série, o azul cobalto ocupa o espaço e o volume, e linhas douradas desenhadas a caneta colocam o olhar do observador dentro da obra.In this series cobalt blue fills space and volume, and gold lines drawn in pen place the viewer's eye inside the work.
Reflexos
A return to painting and the plane, with quieter colours and areas of gloss lacquer that reflect the light. Born from a time of mourning and introspection, the series builds spaces that can be walked through, and asks where one would arrive by unravelling their planes, stairs and paths.
O Concreto e o Incerto
Paintings, wall objects and sculpture built from deconstructed architecture, in a play of illusion that recalls Escher. “There is always something that doesn't close, a missing piece, or one left floating.” The series asks how to tell true from false in uncertain times.
Starting from precious stones and the craft of cutting them, painting takes on a body in MDF and clear acrylic, somewhere between plane and object. Amethyst, a stone found near Santa Cruz do Sul, the artist's hometown, gave rise to the largest work in the series, four metres wide.
Paintings drawn from the architecture of the Iberê Camargo Foundation, where space is crossed by a ladder going up and down, creating tension between colours. For curator Ana Zavadil, ladder and colour create shifts in time and point the eye towards new horizons.

“I believe in the energy of vibration and the power of words. If someone leaves my work better than they arrived, then I will have reached my goal.”
